ParticipantHi
Thanks for all your help before but new problem now!
We replaced the upper element but now know that we didn’t need to! It works perfectly when we turn the grill on but now when we turn the oven on with the fan it fails to heat up. Can you help me with this please?
Regards

No problem. Can you help with this though? Maybe the lower element has been wired back in incorrectly? Would the oven still work but not heat up if this is the case?
Thanks

Hi
Has it got a fan element ?
If so then this weill be the most likely cause.

Hi Bryan
It has got an element in the top of the oven, grill element which works perfectly when the grill is turned on. It also has one inside the bottom of the oven but not one round or near the fan. The bottom of the oven is not heating up at all when we turn the oven on. The fan itself is working perfectly too. Have checked the bottom element and can’t see any marks on it at all. The neon light is broken and we have insulated it today. This isn’t anything to do with the oven heating up?
Thanks

Can you help with the above? Don’t really want to buy another element unless its necessary this time! Am thinking it must be the lower element as no heat but fan working fine. Fail to see how the neon on the front could have anything to do with the heating of the oven!

What model is it and is it the right or left hand oven assuming it’s a Bocuse range cooker?
The neon is wired to the live of the thermostat indicating a feed to the elements, it does have a bearing. As does the fan motor and main commutator switch.

I looked back through the other threads smileychick and you’ve not given a specific model. Rosieres are a nightmare for this on these Bocuse cookers.
You need to give us the info off the rating plate as the letters after the “4040” dictate what version it is and what elements are fitted. For a straight 4040DB there is no fan element as far as I can see so the fault can lie with as above or the lower element, possibly the fan motor. In other words, just about any electrical component that is energised when the oven is on.
