ParticipantI’ve Just got a Second Hand Black Rosieres Paul Bocuse Twin Oven Range cooker Model 4040 DB – 4040 RB IN (quoted from manual) The Left hand multifunctional oven, has the option to be used as a fan oven or as a static oven controlled via a push button, however whatever temperature is selected the oven just continues to get hotter and hotter until the smoke detectors go off.
Is It the thermostat thats to fault, if so how much would a new one cost?
Thanks

and something I forgot to mention!!
The Orange Temperature light for the faulty oven constantly flickers even when the oven dial is in the off position does this indicate the fault ?
Thanks

I Just tried to order the part with the Paypal link in the email Dave sent, however it shows this message:
We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller to resolve the problem. If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact the seller via the “Ask Seller a Question” link on the listing page. When you have the correct email address, payment can be made at http://www.paypal.com.
Do you recognize this problem?

I think it’s because your email client has ben converted it to plain text and the link is broken, I’ve re-sent the email, if you make sure it is viewed as HTML it will be fine.
I’ve checked the link and it works OK for me 😀

Sorry, I still never got around to ordering the part needed, however I got my uncle who is an electrician to have a look at the oven tonight and he wrote down the following information:
SIMMERSTAT (spelling?)
TVE4X103
55/315*c
S56406is this the correct information for the part I definatley need, as I dont want to end up wasting money on the wrong part.
Many Thanks

Right, I ordered the part with the link that was given to me, my uncle came ot fit the new part and its the wrong one, he said we need one that regulates the temperature, not just turning the oven on and off.
Please Help!

The electrician came and said that there is not enough connections on the new part.
He said the information on the old part was:
SIMMERSTAT (spelling?)
TVE4X103
55/315*c
S56406.So the new part is no good, or is it?
Sorry for all the confusion

KeymasterYes, I read that, it is a thermostat and if Dave supplied it I’d wager good money that it’s correct. It is a simple on/off device.
The thermostat is often clipped onto the back of the commutator switch, is that perhaps where the confusion is?

So is the commutator switch, the part with all the little armatures/contact things on?
If so I think thats the actual part that needs replacing.
If it is can I get one from here?
Many Thanks

Hi Dan, yes. the (usually) redish brown bit with the terminals on it is the commutator switch and is more often than not supplied as a seperate part. But from your description of the fault I’d be pretty certain that all you need to replace is the thermostat.

Sorry, I think it is the commutator switch that needs replacinge because one of the small armature things has broken off and thus causing it to overheat.
Can I order a commutator switch from here?

KeymasterHi Dan,
Yes if you mail Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk he’ll be able to sort you one out I should imagine.
