rowenta iron not heating

we have acquired a rowenta iron, looks quite a good one, it is the Pefect DX9301. We have plugged it in, and turned up the dial, but theres not heat. The yellow light illuminates, but no heat. We had a quick look, and the element seems to be working, tested via multimeter. We think it may be the dial, but is there any reason it might not be working?

Sadly there are no parts available by looks of it, normally small appliances are disposable products once out of guarantee. You say you “acquired it” probably whence it came from new it was duff which is why you have it more than likely. You could try Rowenta customer care direct on 0845 602 1454 they may be able to help.

Thanks for the reply, it didnt work when we were given it, and it doesnt look like it will. Another look shows the bi-metal conduct strip isnt working properly, and neither is the thermostat. Looks like a new iron then. 🙁
