Phil,
Helo is right on that point, it’s one you really have to take up with someone else and it is the RETAILER that is responsible in law for that, not Samsung as such, technically. But no doubt, as usual, you’ll get passed from one to the other as each shirks the responsibility.
Whether the problem will return or not, well, we’ll know in about a year or so.

So why then do we constantly and consistently advice people to buy stuff that doesn’t break?
Simple, because when that gear does break it’s actually worth fixing instead of just tossing in a skip.

Yes. I called dixons.. they passed me to samsung! It will come back its the same as the older models. etc. this is the same fault that was about 6 years ago. i had one. it broke down 3 times.
My point is this If you have a rs21 and its had a fault. ask for a replacement. 🙂

That is not the point. While a item can break then it can be repaired but this fix will not fix it for good.
I maybe posted this on the wrong site but we as customers pay your wages and im sorry if i pay out over £1k i expect a good product!

It’s all relative though Phil isn’t it?
I mean 1K for a range cooker is nothing, a good one is at least double that. If you want almost pro performance it’s three times that.
Fridges are the same, especially US ones. Good ones, especially stainless are about £2K and upwards.
That’s it, sorry if you don’t like it but that’s the reality of it. The Korean and others at less than half the price are a “bargain” copy but they aren’t as well built as the real thing is.
In the end that old mantra applies, you get what you pay for.

ParticipantI spent £2000 on a maytag washer/dryer which i think is a bargan as they do a good job. i spent £1000 on a fridge/freezer if you pay £170 for a washing machine then you do. you can onyl spend what you can.
we dont charge £65 to call out to fix a washing machine so you make loads of money. some of us only get £8 p/h and i dont see why this has anything to do with this.
I expect a good product for £1000 if i paid £200 i would also expect it to do what it was to do.

😆
So a plumber at £65 is different?
An electrician?
A car mechanic?
An IT technician?
We don’t make loads of money, total myth. Most repairers struggle to exist and there has been a decline of at least 1300 repairers in the UK between 2004 and 2005.
Most people will happily pay a car dealer, as an example, £50-60 (Honda typical) an hour for a mechanic and it’s your problem to get the car to them at your expense. We call to your door, repair in your home and for a fraction of that cost.
Now, you explain to me what’s wrong with that and how the appliance repairers, in context, are expensive.
Like I said, it’s all relative.
I’d love to buy a Rolls Royce as it is (arguably I admit) the best car in the world. I can’t afford one so I have to make do with what I can afford and in doing so I have to live with the compromises of the cheaper product that I can afford.
Same thing, different product.
