Rust spots on washing

We have an 18 month old Hotpoint WF740 which has recently left small rust spots on light coloured items.

I’ve taken out a paddle to check inside the drum, and I’ve taken off the drain hose, but can’t find any foreign objects which might be rusting. Searching here finds a suggestion that it could be the bearing breaking up, but the drum turns smoothly and doesn’t seem noisy. Can anyone suggest other things I can check?

I’m a bit lost with the WF740 – after 16 years running “traditional” Hotpoints (motor at the top, unclip front of drum, etc) it was bit of shock to discover how different the WF740 is.
