can one use salt which is for water softener, we have been using this for ourselves at home. Works out lot cheaper than buying from supermarkets i.e. 25kg bag £9.00

Certainly…perfect stuff, especially in Tablet form (easier to handle).
Locally (Basingstoke) 25kg is £4.95 a bag so shop around (under Salt Suppliers) for better prices. Avoid Garden Centres and Garages though as I’ve seen it as much as £11.50 !!!!! 👿
