Samsung American Fridge Freezer

Hi Everyone
We have a Samsung American Fridge Freezer (Twin Cooler), 2 days ago it started making a loud screaching noise, it seems to be working alright at present but i have an awful feeling its going to pack in shortly,,the temperature of both fridge & freezer is ok. the other problem is some of the food in the freezer section is all iced up. Has anyone got any idea whats wrong with it or what i should do?????????

even though they are supposed to be frost free it is not always true. a more likely description should be frost resistant

always first with these units is complete defrost. power off, doors open for about 2 days
then turn back on and see from there, the noise can be a fan rubbing on ice

Hi Dave
Thank you for your excellent advise. I though “Frost Free” meant just that but unfortunately not. The Ice maker box was frozen solid as was some of the pipes around it, I got out my hairdryer and unplugged the freezer overnight and low and behold it is working again. Hopefully that is all it was.
