    Hi all

This ff has been fine for around 7 years until recently when the water stopped dispensing followed shortly by the lower fridge being frozen and the upper being warm. I guess i need to change the evaporator cover which i’m happy and competent to do, could some body please confirm the part number to order.

    regards

you need to also be checking the defrost element/thermal fuse AND sensor.. theres a good chance another component is faulty as well

Re: Samsung American fridge freezer RS 21 DCSV

Got around to removing the panel over the weekend and with regards to the top right bunch of connectors in view…
Thermal fuse, top one short circuit – OK
Heaters, middle one drain looks ok at 1850 but main defrost is open circuit
Sensor bottom one is also open circuit!

I’d like to understand why so I imagine the sensor went open circuit which force the defrost coil to eventually burn its self out, doest that sound a likely chain of events?

Could somebody please give me part numbers for the bits I need, would it also be a good idea to fit new-type evaporator panel as well?

Fridge is RS21 DCSV sn is 847343CW600004M

if you order the evaprator, it comes with the heater, fuse and sensor

its the only way you’ll get a heater

u need then to prize the heater off the evaporetor, and fit it to your old one

im sure someone will be along shortly to advise you on part numbers/availabilty

might be a good idea to change the evaporator cover while you have it off, to ensure a lasting repair

    hope this helps
