Samsung American Fridge Freezer RS21DCS No water dispensed..

Hi all

hope someone can help me fix my fridge/freezer water dispenser. The icemaker works fine but depressing the water paddle, and no water is dispensed. I’ve turned the fridge off for 24hrs to thaw out the water tank, checked the micro-switch on the paddle and that looks fine. I guess I’m looking at the two water solonoid valve at the back rear?

Bob – To reiterate, water passes from the inlet valve thro the water chiller behind the draws in the fridge and up to the dispenser via the bottom of the door. If you take off the joint below the door and then press the water lever this will tell you if water is coming thro from the valve via chiller.

Thanks for your reply.
Removed the lower grill with the 3 screws and found the water pipe connector. removed the pipe and no water flowed when pressing the paddle.
What would be my next move?

This is exactly what happened to my fridge, see if the water tank inside your fridge is frozen, if it is, thats because the fan is freezing up and not circulating round , read my posting.

how do you remove the pipes from the storage tank so i can let it defrost?
We’ve never had any fan noise, but I’d like to to check it, would it be behind the water tank?

I wouldn’t worry about the water dispenser at the moment.
I would concentrate on the bigger fault of the excess ice around fridge fan manifold.
Its more of a symptom and cause, you sort the manifold fault out (re below) and defrost appliance for 24hrs then all should return to normal.
There is a part change for this panel c/w fan motor unit which they have modified the drain hole to alleviate this fault re occuring 😀

Think I’ve found the fault, It’s the water solonoid valve!
As you know the water splits into two valves, one for the ice and one for the water, the ice one measure around 1500R and the water one is open circuit. How could I, joe-public get a replacement?

ITS VERY UNSUAL FOR THE SOLENOIDS TO FAIL NEVER HAD 1 IN 7 YEARS YET.

SUPPOSE THERE MUST BE A FIRST.

Fitted the new valve today (£50) all’s fine, thank you all for your responses I’ve learnt a liitle more about domestic appliances!
