Samsung American water dispenser broken

Hope someone can help, I guess the fridge freezer is about three years old now and I remember under warrenty a guy came around and reinforced the ‘hoops’ that the water dispenser paddle pivots on. It’s broken again now and I’ve tried gluing it back but it just breaks again.
If there’s a competent engineer in the Worthing, West Sussex area I’d love to hear from you or prehaps if someone could explain how to remove the whole ice/water bit from the fridge/freezer I might be able to attempt a better repair.

The part that has the hoops for the dispenser lever doesn’t come away from the door I’m afraid, the only permanent solution is to replace the whole door or continue trying to reinforce the originals..

A “moan” to Samsung may be worth a try 😉

Had to change a whole door on Tuesday for this fault. Not a bad job just a bit pricey if you have to pay.

Changing the whole door seems crazy just because Samsung un-engineered what appears to be a common fault. Today I made a new bracket out of Nylon rod, Drimmelled away the old bracket and have just superglued it in place, hopefully this will work.
If not, I have a back-up plan!

There is a repair mod for this problem.Did loads when working for expert.Don`t know were you would pisk them up now though.Did them in white and gray.

Same thing has happened to my fridge. The water dispenser leaver still works but is loose. How do I get at the leaver? Do I prise off the front pannel or get at it from behind? Are there any diagrams/instructions about?

All tech and diagrams are subject to copyright unfortunately. What I will say is that the front does come off, but its not for the faint hearted 😉

Thanks for that.

Had a bit of a go and it seems that the big square plastic fame on the front can be prised off quite easily using a flat srewdriver and a thin block of wood to avoid marking the fridge. I haven’t taken it off completely but I can see that there are quite a few self tapping screws holding the whole control panel, ice dispenser and water dispenser in place. I suppose I need to take out the screws and the whole unit should rock forward and out? Can anyone confirm this?

BiggerD did you get the front bezel off? how do you think its sercured just by a couple of lugs on each side?
Any other advice greatly appreciated

Clips all the way round each one of them detach with a fascia cracking sound 😆
Un plug appliance please before attempting this act.

OK got the fascia off, sorted out my broken bracket. Paddle all OK mechanically and actuates the microswitch OK. However not water is dispensed! microswitch checked out OK with meter. I guess there’s a water solonoid valve somewhere, would this be suspect?

Morning

If the dispensor arm clip has brocken then you can use a P clip screwed onto the plastic facia which will then hold the arm into place.

The dispenser arm is intact and and actuates the microswitch correctly, I can here it clicking, but no water dispensed. So I thought there must be a electric solonoid valve somewhere, although having thought about it could it be that water has just frozen in the pipe blocking the flow?
