Samsung B1215J bearings

Hi all,

I’ve got to go to one of these machines today with what suspiciously sounds like knackered bearings. Having never even seen one of these machines before I have a few questions:

Is the job worth doing at all?

If so, is it a fairly straightforward job?

Would a bearing kit from another manufacturer fit?

If not, where can I get genuine?

Any other problems I’m likely to encounter?

These are OK on the whole Dave. For some reason the service info is missing from Samsung’s new parts site though 🙁

I have though emailed a copy of a very similar model the parts list and expolded to you. Split drum and no bearings shown but the seal is available as a seperate item so a pair of generic bearings should do the trich 🙂

My copy of parts manual for this machine shows rear half tub with no bearings listed but lists oil seal

PART NO DC97-00214A TUB BACK
PART NO DC66-00008A OIL SEAL

Thanks very much for the info Dave – much appreciated. Looks conventional enough, think I’m just gonna have to dive in and see what’s in there.
