ParticipantI have a Samsung Ecobubble Washer Dryer. WD10N645RAX. The machine works perfectly fine on any wash cycle, however when drying, whether after a wash or just as a separate action, it stops after EXACTLY 15 minutes. This happens every time and does not change regardless of the duration set for a drying cycle.
i have tried the following:
- Recalibrated machine
- Multiple self clean cycles
- Clean the filter and excess water from the front to the machine
- Disconnected the hoses and flushed through with water
- No error codes present when doing diagnostics
- Tried with empty and full washing machine – No difference
The machine simply gets 15 minutes in, chimes like it is done with the cycle and then stops. It does allow me to immediately continue the cycle, as it doesn’t actually end it however.
I am getting the error code HC2.
I have phoned Samsung support and other than wanting me to book an engineer had no suggestions.
Any ideas / help would be greatly appreciated. I must predict I am not trained or an expert on this stuff, so am just trying to piece my way through the steps, hoping to find the issue at hand.
Thanks in advance for any support provided.

Moderatorwell first is to see if its getting hot at all
take the lid off and the dryer section is often at the top. see if it gets hot.
if not, unplug machine and look round the heater box and there is often a thermostat attached with a small button in the middle. gently press that button and if it goes click it should start working again
if it trips out often then it would need to be stripped and cleaned as lint may be blocking air flowDave

Moderatorgreen is heater box
orange is thermostats
look at the theremostats and see if there is a little button between the wire terminal. if yes push gently and see if it clicks

Moderatorto clear lint the unit would have to be stripped
another thing that can occasionally trip it is turrning the programme off before the end

Moderatorwell the metal box is where to start but after that there is a tube running down the machine that can get blocked. you need to remove the metal box first to access. often when you have done that you can clear it with a wire hook made out of an old wire coat hanger

ParticipantJust while I’m asking, does that back black fan- like item need to be taken off also to remove the metal heater box? From the looks of it, it would?

Moderatorthat black fan is where any blockages would be.. You seldom get any blockages in the heater tunnel as it would be burnt off by the elements
Would not be the first time I took off a fan to find all the blades clogged with lint

Moderatorsurface lint like that should not be a problem

ParticipantSo I cannot see any issues with the fan. I assume you mean the bit at the top of the black bit I have lifted? It doesn’t appear to be heating at all, even when pressing In the reset button like last time, which has worked for several months.

ParticipantApologies I’m no expert. Are you able to get explain how I check the element and if the fan runs?
July 25, 2025 at 7:59 pm #492706electrofix
Moderatoruse a multimeter to check the resistance of the element to see if its blown

ParticipantThis is where im probably a bit out of my depth sorry. I don’t have multimeters or any other fancy bits of equipment. I’m simply trying to use the basic things I can do to see if I can get it working again. I assume it’s cutting out because it’s overheated, but I simply don’t know. All I know is there’s no error messages and it cuts out after 15 minutes, with no heat being generated.

Moderatorwell assume now its not heating at all
so it could be all sorts of thingsfirst off as you have tried the overheat stats but since you have proved its not that things get more technical

ParticipantAre there any other simple or obvious things I have missed at all that you can think of?
