Hi,
Looking some advice on a fault with a Samsung American style fridge freezer
Model number RS7667FHCSP
During the night a few days ago it tripped the RCD, unbeknown it was the fridge freezer at the time but RCD held for about 12 hours until it tripped again.
Subsequently reset and then proceeded to trip every 30-40 minutes. Isolated the problem to the fridge freezer after trying on another RCD.
Left off overnight and when plugged in again trips within 2-3 seconds.
Working perfectly before that. Wasn’t aware of any problems and never has done previously.
I’ve taken off the cover inside the freezer and all appears well. Attempted to locate the connector for the defrost heating element and when removed and attempts made to turn fridge on again it trips within a few seconds.
Looked underneath by compressor and no obvious leaks. Located the ducting which takes the water to the tray underneath and not blocked or frozen. Cleaned out the water and dust.
I’ve had a white doors repair man come out suggested, all be it without testing, that it’s the board and the repair price would be £800 as there are apparently 3 boards that all need replacing together.
I’ve booked someone else to come out for a second opinion but wanted some other opinions to avoid being fobbed off again.
thank you
