Samsung Fridge Freezer – HELP!!!

Hi,

i have a sumsung side by side Fridge Freezer which is 8 or 9 years old. Today we noticed the frozen food was defrosted.

i took the rear panel off and noticed a large accumulation of dust which I removed. A fan that sits between the compressor and coil? unit was working but I could not hear the compressor running.

i cycled the power and then selected Power Freeze. The front display seemed to indicate the temps were dropping and at the moment is says the fridge is 3 degrees and the freezer -25. I have checked with a laser thermometer and the fridge is at 11.5 and the freezer 1.5.

Does anyone have any idea:

a) what the likely problem is
b) how much it is likely to cost to fix
c) given its age is it worth fixing

Update: the unit is a -samsung fridge freezer-rsh7unmh

This evening the compressor seems to be running!
