Samsung fridge freezer ice dispenser question

Hello there,
I’ve recently bought a Samsung RSJ1JEMH side by side fridge freezer with water and ice dispenser.

The ice dispenser can dispense ice cubes or crushed ice. I was wondering what sort of quantity the icemaker should be making? When the freezer is in it’s normal mode the icemaker produces about 20 ice cubes in total and no more. This is fine but if I select ‘crushed ice’ then nothing comes out (just the mechanical noise of the cutters and the spindle that draws the ice to the cutters. It would seem that there isn’t enough ice cubes to enable the spindle to move the ice into the cutters. If the ‘ice cube’ setting is activated, it dispenses the whole cubes fine however.

Last night, I switched on ‘Power Freeze’ which the manual states increases ice production. This morning I had a lot more ice cubes produced in the bucket and the crushed ice worked fine. However there were a couple of full cubes dispensed as well.

So, my questions are:

Is this normal for this type of system? should I have to switch on ‘power freeze’ in order that the machine makes enough ice for the ice crusher to work? Is abot 20 ice cubes the normal amount for the machine to produce whn ‘power freeze’ is not enabled?

Is it normal for a few full sized cubes to be dispensed along with the crushed ice when the ‘crushed ice’ setting is used?

Anyone else got a similar fridge freezer and can confirm that mine is operating correctly?

Ok, I think I know what the quantity issue is. I haven’t left the freezer long enough. Today I have plenty of extra ice and the crusher’s working fine. I do however get the odd full cube in with the crushed ice though. Is that typical of these machines?
