Samsung Fridge Freezer Noisy fan – RS21 NGRS

Hi,

I’ve read through the articles on Samsung Noisy fan faults but still have a question regarding the problem my RS21 NGRS has developed. It’s maybe 10 yrs old now.

Here’s the background: Had frost build up at the top and bottom heater in the fridge compartment some weeks ago. This caused the noisy fan; Temps normal, Open the door and noise stops. From the forum, looked like either defrost sensor, defroster unit or ill fitting back cover. Manually defrosted by taking cover off and de iced (Ice was all over top and bottom cover and defrost grill at the bottom). All worked fine.

Three weeks later, the same thing happened. I have defrosted it again and it looked the same as before, so was wanting advice, given the age, on what to replace
a) Defrost sensor, b) Defrost sensor and back cover, c) full defrost unit + DF sensor and back cover incl. fan? or other suggestions.

ps: Is there a key sequence I can do to force defrost mode to prove if defrost unit has broken?(I saw You Tube vids of 6 button control panels, but mine has only got 4) ?

Thanks for the last reply. A further development, maybe unrelated, separate fault?

Fridge: Fault codes still showing 7 (R-Defrost Error), I was just about to order Samsung Evaporator & Defrost Heater DA96-00013H for this to scavenge the heater, sensors etc.
Freezer: Now error 11 shows up (Freezer Fan Error) there’s a big vibration and noise in the freezer fan, and the freezer is not cooling past -4C, fridge only down to 7 (does the freezer affect the fridge temp too?).

Which parts should I order for the freezer?
