Sorry if I am asking what has been asked a million times before but I’ve had a look back at past Samsung topics and can’t find the info I need.

I bought my fridge freezer in Feb and have had an engineer out twice already for the flap/fan problem – it ices over and causes that hideous whirring noise then eventually shuts down. The first time in June, engineer lined the part with foil to prevent it freezing. Then in August he replaced the entire panel. Problem is, it’s started again this weekend. Samsung want to repair again but I’m pushing Currys for a replacement (of the non-Samsung variety!). Am I likely to get this or be forced to accept the repair? I am awaiting their call back.

Secondly, if they do offer a replacement, what make would be best? I am on a tight budget and can’t afford to pay much more on top of the £300 that the Samsung cost. I’ve been looking at a Hotpoint, any good or am I leaving myself open to similar problems?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Currys will just send you back to Samsung and Samsung can only offer another repair.

If it fails after three repairs, they may be able to look into other options for you.
