samsung fridge freezer rs20ccms

I’m a Newbe Help please i’m at my wits end. we have the above f/freezer and every 4-5 weeks my hubby has to take the cover off inside the freezer to defrost the element with a steamer, it starts with the freezer defrosting the food and the fridge goes warm. My hubby is a electrician but he’s at a loss what is causing this. can we get a service manual anywhere?

probably defective defrost sensor and/or thermal fuse. Rs20 is not included in product recall

It did say somewhere on this sites home page and in other news articles that other models may be included.
Always worth a check.

Thanks to all who replied, my husband is now going to check your suggestions, but here is another question Andy would like me to ask, with the RS21 you can do a diagnostic check with the buttons on the front control panel, does anyone know if there is one for the RS20? Thank you again for your time.

I have a RS20CCMS 🙁 and just had the Comet anti explosive work
done,
the lights now don’t come on and the freezer instead of a nice -18 has
settled for a relaxing +4 :rolls: so beware !
anywho while trying to sort out the problem having given up on Comet
i stumbled on the Samsungs website and phoned the helpline
0845 7267864 and even though the FF is out of warranty they would
repair certain things for free, so it might be an idea to see what they
say.
