Hi, Samsung DV90K6000CX heat pump dryer runs for hours but doesn’t dry. The clothes get hot however it just seems to stay hot and steamy in the drum and doesn’t actually dry. Compressor does indeed run. Had it all apart cleaned it all out and washed out the small amount of fluff in the heat exchanger. What I did notice however is some green coloured staining near where the compressor is seated so presumably the refrigerate has leaked out? If I was to buy the circulation assembly, would this come gassed or would I then need to get someone to do it. If it comes gassed could you provide the part number for that please? Finally do you think that a new heat pump would sort the issue. The dryers only about 3 years old and cost a lot if I remember rightly was about £700 so ideally want to get it fixed.

well something is going on because the washing is getting hot

if the system was totally out of gas i would not expect any heat at all

have a real good look at the filters even the one you empty in the door. hold up to the light and make sure you can see through them

the heat exchanger as you put it consists of 2 parts. the evaporator ( normally the ice box in a fridge) and the condensor ( the grills at the back of a fridge). in this unit they are back to back so it cools the air then adds the heat back

try opening the heat exchanger and see if the face get cold when its running

I think it’s definitely getting hotter than I ever remember it getting before, when I used to open the door it would be warm but now it’s actually really quite hot, more how I remember my old condenser dryer being.

filters wise, I’ve soaked and scrubbed all the filters both in the door and the black mesh type material from the front of the heat heat exchanger. They were pretty clear anyway but that didn’t make a difference.

when I put my hand in to the face of the heat exchanger it’s hard to tell but all I can feel is warmth.

It seems to me that the hot air isn’t condensing for whatever reason. I have also tested the pump to make sure that works which it does.

    any further suggestions?

if the front face of the evaporator is not getting cold it will never condence the water

well its all pointing to a system fault
you can buy a complete base with compressor but the cost is silly as its the main working components. I also cant find anyone with stock

Thanks for the info, I’ve seen other Samsung heat pump assemblies online but not specifically for this model. This may sound stupid but are they actually all different or could I just swap it for a similar looking system?

short answer dont know Samsung are a law unto themselves. Thousands of models with little or no tech or part support
