ParticipantMy tumble dryer was vibrating a little from time to time but had been getting gradually worse until tonight when it literally started sounding like it was about to explode.
What might the issue be here?
thanks!

Moderatorok that motor speed
turn it round and while its running gently press on the lower rear cover. if noise changes fan is catching the cover
take the rear cover off and investigate

Moderatorno that is not good
normally i would say just change the fan
but
I have had 2 machines like this where the motor mounts had allowed the fan to come into contact with the rear coverso far have found no cure. was going to inject glue / filler on the last one but the customer decided to scrap it
so you choice is do you take a punt on whether its just the fan

ParticipantHi Dave
Replaced the fan.
i think the motor has slightly dropped hence the fan couldn’t spin without contact so i have realigned the motor and the fan seems to spin more freely.
the only weird thing is when i put machine back together it gives a flashing DC message on the screen.
I took it apart again and tested the continuity of the top door switch and it suggests the switch is fine.
if i manually depress the switch it still gives the code.
Any idea what could be wrong?
could other sensors be at fault and still give the DC code?
any help appreciated

Moderatoreven if a switch operates does not mean its electrically ok
test the switch and check wiring to the board
