Samsung P1253 Washing Machine Stopped Spinning

My mothers 14month old samsung P1253 (6.0Kg )washing machine has finally stopped spinning on all modes.

After about 10months ( when it was still in warranty) the Washing Machine refused to work on a Spin only programme, but would spin on a complete wash cycle.

A call to Samsung told us to switch it off for a while at the Mains & then back on.

This worked for a while before doing the same again a couple of weeks back.

This again worked until last week the Washer would not Spin on a Spin Only & it won’t spin on a complete wash cycle either.

Any ideas, my initial stop will be Samsung to inform them that the fault appered prior to the warrranty expiring. But any help would be appreciated.

Hi Brian

Firstly, check to make sure all the water appears to be emptying from the machine. If the machine does not empty, or takes too long to empty it can affect the way the machine attempts to spin.

If it appears to do this, then I would suggest the main program module is faulty. (Reasonably common on these units). Unfortunately, you cannot easily test the module. If I were you, I would call an engineer as Samsung Washing Machines are covered by a 2 year parts and labour warranty, so get on to them

Thats great news Jackal…I tried ringing their customer service line this morning but can’t get through, so had to resort to their email form.
If I don’t here anything by tomorrow then I’ll try again.

Hi

Are you getting an error code at end of cycle ie- ” UE ” in display which is out of balance.
Some error codes are in the user manual
