So this is the freezer defrost drain clogging up. I opened it up, defrosted with a hair drier, and even poured some hot water down to make sure it was all clear through – it does seem to drain when I do this.

Problem is that a couple of months later, it all starts up again. Is there something else I can try, or did I maybe not clear it up enough before? I didn’t physically stick anything down there to unplug it – the hot water I put down seems to have come right through.

    Any suggestions welcome.

Have you checked the defrost heater in there is working, if I recall it’s a small stick on one.

No idea what it looks like – nor how I would test it. Is there a service manual available?

A small foil stick on thing often with a couple of wires out it and it’ll either be open or closed circuit, if open then it’s faulty.

    As to a service manual…. https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix-it-yourself/all-appliances/2817-all-service-manuals

So i tested it. There are multiple connectors.

The top white one has a reading, but the bottom yellow one is 0 ohms. Not sure which is which – do you think it needs replacing?

Looking at that, I’d think the yellow wires were for a thermistor and the brown and blue were the live and neutral for the heater so you should get a circuit across those.
