    Hi,
I have a Samsung RFG230DERS1 American style fridge freezer. Water is building up in a big puddle in the base of the fridge section and some of this is freezing too. It appears to be coming from a hole towards the lower part of the fridge, behind the veg baskets. There is no obvious leak coming from the water/ice dispenser or filter areas. I did manage to take all the internal shelves out but wimped out before trying to take the panelling off in fear of irreversibly damaging it, so the leak could be coming from higher up but just be not visible.

Is there anything I can do before calling out an engineer? I am out of warranty. If bits need replacing I’m fine with the cost I just don’t want to find out it’s nothing more than a blocked drainage hole, or something I could have fixed myself and saved myself £100+

    Thanks,
    Gilly

    Hi

I would believe that your either in france or you have purchased this in france.

have you checked that the water filter is tight as the only actual water source is the water filter as he cooling comes from the freezer.

    Thanks for the reply Bryan,
I’m in the UK, the fridge freezer was a ‘test’ model I had to review for a website and the got to keep (V lucky I know!)

I made a small slip with the model no – its RFG23DERS1/XEU

I’ll go and check the filter now – it’s top right, but if there is a leak here I may not be able to tell because of the panels.

Is it worth switching the water supply off to check that the incoming water supply/filter connection is the problem?

    thanks again,
    Gilly
