Initial call from customer around Xmas time…. appliance had shut off and all food lost. Couldn’t get out but customer cancelled call a few days later – all working ok.

Now customer back – appliance runs for a short time then shuts off – no obvious fault code – the display is still on. You have to turn it off and back on for it to work.

Customer says there is a pool of frozen water at the base of freezer.

Is this a faulty defrost heater?? Have I read some where on here about the circuit stopping the appliance running because it’s not defrosting??? (I just can’t find it)

    thanks

    Hello,

Common overlooked fault with these is the baffle geared motor cannot align. So the unit shuts down.

Don’t have the Samsung part no. to-hand but the connect code is 5045172161123.

If it is the deforst heater. Usually what happens is the appliance freezes and cools but when it enters an auto-defrost the appliances tays off until the yellow evap sensor reaches room temp.
Swithcing the appliance off at the mains for 15 secons will re-set the ROM on the main ECU/Module and the unit fires back into life.

    Hope this helps>?

    Hi TM,

Thanks for your help. Had the baffle non-alignment problem before but pretty sure that showed up as fault all light flashing.

Sounds like the heater. I’ll go to Bryan (R600a) for spares. He’s very reliable and a good selection of spares. I’ll let you know I get on.

    Ta
