Hi, I hope someone can help …
we have a 2 year old samsung RL39, both the fridge & freezer are not holding their temperatures. If we switch it off on the digital display & switch it back on, we can hear all the right noises that it makes, the temp goes down slightly, but not enough. and only for a short while. The freezer will keep stuff just about frozen as long as it is frozen when it is put in, it wont freeze something from room temperature.
Can anyone suggest what the problem might be & what might the cost be
    Thanks in advance…. Alison 🙂

This might be of some use to people reluctant to shell out on repairs to Samsung fridges with the defrosting problem I have a SR-S20 american side by side model which started defrosting over xmas just when you need it,after numerous calls to Samsung who first told me if I had my receipt they would fix it under warranty however upon finding it decided they wouldn’t so I did a few fault finding tests leading to a fully working fridge for under £5 here’s what you do buy yourself a programmable socket timer and set it to switch the fridge off for 10 minutes of every hour mine is now colder than it was new I hope this works for yours best of luck

when this unit is switched on it starts up for a few hours then goes into a defrost cycle automaticly, when the defrost sensor picks up the heat from the defrost heater it sends a signal to the pcb to carry on cooling if no heat is sensed it just sits there and defrosts,so your defrost heater or fuse has gone
