Hi,
My Samsung RS20CCMS has so far given me 12 years of reliable service.
However, it has just experienced the common problem of the fridge and then the freezer compartments warming up. On further inspection the defrost heater was completely iced up.
After reading the advice on here I replaced the defrost sensor and everything is back to normal but I can see that this has not permanently fixed the problem (there is a pool of ice at the bottom of the freezer compartment again).
I am therefore assuming that the defrost heater itself is at fault and needs replacing.
Before I order a new one, can anyone tell me how difficult it is to replace this component? I don’t recall seeing any screws/bolts or brackets holding it in place but seem to think it was riveted in place?
I’ve tried searching the forum but haven’t been able to find the answer so any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance!
Steve
