Samsung Rs20ccms

Hi Guys

I have been out to this f/f it has a fluffy ice formation top and bottom of the evaporator, defrosted and its back in a week.

All sensors and defrost heaters working, can any shed any light on why this is doing this at these places.

Door seals are sound, and c/x informed door to fridge is open no longer than it should be.

I can only think it allowing moisture or warm air from some where causing this but not sure.

Any suggestions please.

Is the evap fan working and are temps in fridge OK ?

The fan motor is working, thats the problem as the cooling is all done by the freezer, when the evaporator gets the fluffy ice forming it blocks the finns so the air does not blow through the evaporator hence the temp in to the fridge is affected.

Do you have an evaporator in the fridge section ?

Samsung have had major issues with the over icing in the fridge compartment, to the point it reached the Watchdog programme.

If it is that one, basically its a crap design with no solution other than replacing the Evap cover, sensors, heat deflector to evap cover and pray.

The poly foam they used causes moisture trap and not heat to dry out, which causes the vents to block, temp to go funny and cancelling of defrost.

Can I take it that this is a single evap type in the freezer? If so, when you check continuity of the heater you must seperate the connector for the upper and lower defrost heaters, otherwise one may have failed but the other is ok, but give the impression that both are fine. Also, with the fridge running normally, open the fridge door and listen carefully to hear if the damper flap is opening and shutting, by operating the door switch. There is also test procedure that you can go through but I would probably have to email a copy. Hope this helps. Good luck

Temperature reading on the display -25 freezer +3 fridge, actual temperature inside -12 and +8, this is due to evaporator blocked with fluffy ice again approx a week.

Why if there is such a difference in the internal temperature the display does not show this?

All heaters ok, if a sensor faulty surely this would show a fault code?

I read somewhere that there a modification to the freezer evaporator covers when you get excessive frost build up, could be caused by fan not running properly similar to some twin cooling models is this correct?

Sensors will show as a fault if they are basically open circuit or short circuit, not if they are just slightly out. Is there some reason the freezer is set to -25? This will generally produce more frost. If elements are both testing ok then I would probably change sensors, definitely the defrost one.
