ParticipantCalled out on this one on Thursday, all drain hole and gutter heater solid block of ice up to evaporator, evaporator clear.
Defrosted it manually with steamer, tested heater and all checked out ok, did find a cable tie blocking hole, so thought that could have been the problem why water not draining away.
Still has the orginal fan housing assembly on this one.
Called back again today to check it ice already building up again in drain hole.
Run the display self diagnostics test proceedure no fault shown in display except the fan motor as i had removed this.
To test the heater attempted the forced defrost, but just could not get it to go into this test, just kept beeping then returning to normal mode?
Is there an art to run the test mode or is it just pratice?
What is the correct resistance reading on these heaters, could it still be a heater or a pcb fault?
Any help would be appreciated.

About 490 ohms for the main element and about 2100 ohms for the drain heater. The two heaters are wired in parallel so you must disconnect and test seperately. From your description the drain heater is faulty. PCB or thermal fuse would stop both elements coming on and the complete evaporator would be iced up. Faulty heater does not have an error code.

famous rs21 fault, you would probally need to fit
1 cover assy
2 t/fuse
3 defo sensor
4 evap heater
5 possibily drain hole heater..you can put appliance into forced fridge defo..and both heaters will come on.. but if t/fuse is o/c then forced operation wont work.
samsung are doing these free of charge at the mo.. tell your cust to call them..

FOC only on fridge side providing they have a valid receipt that puts the appliance within 5 years of age. Freezer section not covered.
