This is some feedback regards well-documented issues (UK White Goods) regards the Samsung RS21, and to personally thank user: egonvdv for taking the time and energy to post pictures of the repair procedure. 😀

    Thread: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=31015

Yes Samsung have extended the warranty to 5 years after original purchase, however it is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part. In my case the evaporator cover. However there has not been a recall for this product. I would have registered the product after purchase – so they have my details.

After I stripped the part down, defrosting, etc – it is now frozen again (water dispenser stopped working), and the fan is noisy, after only a matter of days. Temperature for the freezer is -22 and the fridge is 4 degrees.

Now awaiting an engineer to fit the revised evaporator part and hopefully the end to this saga.

Not wishing to be rude and having every sympathy with you plight. The appliance was initially guaranteed for a period of two years during which all repairs were free of charge. I glean that your unit is now outside of this guarantee (?) but as I understand it still covered within the fridge compartment for parts. You have stated that you have replaced the evaporator cover and now have the same problem. If the evaporator cover is of the later design and is once again frozen up then the original fault has been wrongly diagnosed. The fault is either the evaporator heater, the drain heater, defrost sensor or thermal fuse. To identify the newer evaporator look for a long metal plate below the fan defrost hole. Finally, take on board that only a small minority of these units have failed about 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
