This fridge freezer had shut down and defrosted. I tested everything in fridge and freezer (heaters thermal, fuses, sensors, fans)all tested ok. Visually checked power board at back every thing looked ok, fuses fine. All that showed on the display was one dash flashing on the fridge tempreture digits.
If you think of the digits as looking like 88 it was the bottom right vertical line on the second 8 that was flashing. What does this mean? The machine kicked into life after reset but i fear it may cut out again. Could not find any of the error codes in known error codes.

    Thanks

If the rs21 has an ice maker the most likly fault is the sensor under the ice tray the wires break with constant twisting you can replace the sensor or solder the wires together if it is broken make sure you turn the power off first. if you rejoin the broken wires when you turn it back on everthing will spring back into life.
    common fault on the rs21.

    Thanks for replies.
This fridge does’nt have an ice maker.I spoke to the customer who said the fridge has been working fine for the past few days.
Before the fridge origionally shut down and defrosted they said it got noisy and the noise would stop when you opened the door. Im wondering that as it had the common ice build up around fan problem, if it could have frozen the fridge sensor causing the resistence reading to go out of range and throwing up the sensor fault code and shutting down the fridge. Can this happen? Just guessing!
