ParticipantHi All
I have come across this website only yesterday while looking to sort out a broken washer-dryer. While browsing, I have noticed that the general opinion that people hold of the Samsung side-by-sides isnt great.
I have a Samsung (model listed above) without the ice and water dispenser for the last 15 odd months and its been running fine without missing a beat. However the warranty will be up in about 9 months and then there seems to be a design defect with the machine. Is there anything I can do to pre-empt problems or force Samsung to replace the defective part with a new modified one?
Any else that I should be aware of on this range of machines?

Hi,
they don’t all break down, you only read of those that did. If yours is running fine, leave well alone.

Exactly……In fact Samsung arent all that bad. 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of calls they get are just queries, nothing to do with faults.

Unless a fault occurs with the unit, Samsung wont replace any parts, nor will they advise it is a design fault-as they have stated there is no design issues with any of the units.
As you are still under warranty with them any issues that occurs within the next 9 months, either call or email them to arrange an engineer.
As they now have twice as many service centres, it is unlikely you will have to wait over 48 hours for an engineer.
Hope this is some help.

i wouldnt worry greatly
the samsungs without the ice and water seem to be far more reliable
you see, mac has a good point there!
all that seems to be seen is people reporting their problems, people who have no problems dont, cos theyve no need topersonally, i like samsung appliances, theyre well built and fuction well
no1 will ever be able to advise on the percentage breakdown on reliability
believe me when i say that theres an awfull lot of them out there, and whilst it seems that theres a lot with reported faults, im convinced ther will be an awful lot that of people who have had NO problems and are blissfully happy with there reasonably priced american style appliance.
incidentally, on a lighter note, i was called out to a samsung today, 30 months old
warning lights on.. theyre rubbish.. need all these conversions (customer says whilst clutching of printed posts from t’internet)
basic fact.. the filter warning light changed to red, and because he’d read all the negative posts, he thought he was in for bucket loads of trouble
you see my point?

LOL Thats an absolute classic Helo!
Dont think the customer knew to call Samsung and ask how to reset the filter light.
With regards to the percentage of units failing against those bought-its around 2 {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}

see, so its unfair to jump the gun and refer to them as poor
that percentage speaks volumes
