    Hi
I am aware of the known issue with fridge section of this model and samsung did the modification about 4 years ago on mine…seemed to work OK until –

A month ago I noticed the fridge was not cooling and I suspected that the initial problem with freezing behind panel had re-occurred…..so I took panel off and yes it was all frozen again. Obviously way out of warranty (even the 5 year samsung allowed for this fault) I looked around and saw the best solution seemed to be to buy a whole modification kit.

I installed said kit to the best of my ability but after installation my problems are now seemingly worse!

There is no ice forming behind panel now.

When i turn the appliance on it starts up (the compressor appears to start up fine and the fan next to the compressor starts up after a while) the fridge and freezer both come on and after an hours or so both are at correct temperatures (-21/3) both on the display and actual temperatures taken with thermometers!

but once they reach these temperatures the fridge seems to stop working display and lights still on) and both the fridge and the freezer warm up very quickly to unacceptable levels (zero and 10 as I write) the display still shows -21/3 !

I have tried to press both top buttons to get an error code to indicate failing section but doesnt show any dash- perhaps because it hasnt been on long enough?

Can anyone advise at to possible cause please?? I suspect it may be that I have done something wrong with mod kit but would that effect the freezer or does that give anyone a clue as to what i might have done wrong?

I would be so grateful of any input/comments/advice

Re: Samsung RS21DCNS both Fridge and freezer temp up and dow

    additional:

the fridge/freezer does come back on after a while and the temperature reduces …..but the food is already ruined and the temp varies throughout day
