    Hi

    I recently bought a 2nd hand Samsung RS21DCNS fridge freezer, and I wish I hadn’t bothered……

The freezer side seems completely fine, no problems.

The fridge side seemed to work for maybe 10 days then I noticed towards the top of the fridge it was warm, no air circulation, the bottom was sort of cold but not very. I turned the fridge off and took off the back panel off and I’m not sure it was not meant to be like this but there was frost on freezer heater defrost element. Also when I checked the error code it comes up that there is a R-defrost error.

This worked for around 2 weeks and then the same thing happened with the fridge. What I noticed is that when I turned the fridge off and then back on the temperature would reset to the actual real temperature and went from 3 to 16. We currently don’t have anything in the fridge but We’re using the freezer side. On Sunday I noticed the fridge temperature had dropped, then Monday it was back at a good cold temperature again. I’ve seen some people on forums mention about the noises that the fridge is making, I’ve not come across this a great deal, every now and then I might hear a noise that last for about 5 seconds, as if something is just starting up but then it goes.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Hi

You will need to replace defrost heater, defrost sensor, thermal fuse and evaporator cover.
