Would really appreciate some guidance with regard to this matter.

we have owned this fridge/freezer since new since 2005

I am aware of the legacy problems with the cooling fan freezing and this was replaced in April 2011 by a recommended Samsung engineer.

I have removed the cooling fan panel today and cannot find any evidence of ice that might need to be defrosted and everything looked clean and in order

I unplugged the fridge/freezer for 12 hours today to see if that sorted things out, NO LUCK.

I have also tried to use the self diagnosis, this just flashes 88 on both sides, so not quite sure what this means.

Could it be the motor that’s gone or a problem with the gas.

Either way is this something that can be fixed at a reasonable cost, or is there something I’m missing

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

The panel shows temperature readings of 18 for freezer and 16 for fridge. When i press the buttons the following appears on the front panel -88 & 88

    There is no noise whatsoever

    Appreciate your help

    Disconnect the appliance
    Reconnect
Quickly press and hold ‘power cool’ & ‘power freeze’ buttons for 6 seconds

Note where the dashes appear these are error codes
The dash should be either in the freezer side or fridge side
