Hi there, I have one of the RS21 fridge freezers that’s developed a minor problem and despite searching here I’ve not been able to track down an answer to my particular problem. If someone can help me out I’d appreciate it.

Every few months I find the ice maker makes a loud grinding kind of noise when dispensing ice, which I can sort by clearing out all the ice cubes and leaving for a short while. Very unscientific, but it seemed to work. What I find now is that the Ice Maker ‘bucket’ assembly will not pull out for some reason. It seems to be locked at the back somehow, but seemingly not by any ice build-up, which is what I checked for first.

The front part should come away by just lifting and pulling, but doesn’t work. If anyone can suggest a way to remove the assembly I’d appreciate it.

    Many thanks.

    Hi

the cause is due to your selector arm being jammed in the wrong section of the box at the rear of the ice bucket. you will need to really pull hard and wobble the ice bucket to remove it and then make sure the steel bar goies into the plastic square centrally.

    Hi Bryan,
It occurred to me before that the metal arm that extends half way back may be the problem, although I couldn’t see how I could free it. It is either attached-to or passess through a white plastic piece. I didn’t want to tug too hard because if it was attached, it would break the plastic.

It seems pretty firmly fixed in place – am I going to break it?
