Purchased in 2006 & it’s been a brilliant fridge/freezer, however I now have an issue with the fridge not cooling. When powered on constantly it showed normal (3 degrees) temp on the display but using a food probe shows the internal temp to be 14 degrees. Engineer has been out & replaced the defrost heater which resolved the issue for 2 weeks which was the same as when I left it switched off for 12 hours. It then worked for 2 weeks.
The engineer is now on holiday till 2nd August & my fridge isn’t working. I switched it off for 5 mins tonight & back on again & found that the fan at the back on the bottom didn’t start straight away. Once it started the temp started to reduce. I dont want to assume its the fan motor as im not a technician, if anyone advise on something I can do till he gets back or an easy fix. I’ve tried defrosting it again which hasn’t helped so I’m assuming that the part replaced wasn’t the correct one.
