ParticipantHi, I have a Samsung rsa1dhmh american style fridge freezer which will only dispense crushed ice no matter what type of ice has been selected on the front panel. Please could someone advise which spare part would need to fix that? I can see the full ice machine units available for £77 on espares, would the entire unit be needed?

Bryan or Bob will know more but, I don’t think it’s the ice maker that you would need for that problem. It only makes the ice which it is doing from what you’ve said.
It’s more likely to be the ice bucket or the gubbins in the door that is at fault.
Also, eSpares are usually more expensive, drop Dave an email on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk once you find out what you need.

You will need to check the lever at the bottom of the ice bucket is fitting in the square hole at the back as if you have removed the ice bucket you may not have put it back in correctly.
If it is in correctly then it will be the solinoid faulty that fits in the auger motor box at the back.

Thanks a lot guys!
Bob – Do you know how hard the part is to fit? And is this the one? http://www.espares.co.uk/product/es1555 … Id=1551904Kwatt – Point taken about espares, once the part is confirmed I’ll mail Dave.
Thanks again guys, this is a big help. Plus I fudgeing hate crushed ice :s!!!

Hi
Have you checked that the square arm is lifting ? have you checked that the metal bar that is at the back of the ice bucket is locating into the square hole correctly ?

Hi Bryan,
Yes the metal rod is slotting in to the plastic hole at the back. I can force the fridge to make cubed ice if I jam the rod above the plastic square lifting the arm, however I don’t really want to leave it like that. I take it the solenoid discussed above lifts that plastic square arm, which lifts the rod which controls the ice blades?
Thanks

Hi
Then does that white plastic square lift up if you do it manually with your finger ?

Hi,
Yes I can manually move the plastic square up, however it just drops down. Could it have become unclipped? Or is it more likely for the motor to have failed?
Thanks
