HI, thanks for looking at my topic
I have a Samsung rsg5ucrs American Fridge freezer that has been great for 4 years and all of a sudden this morning the power was off. There was nothing on the LCD screen and the lights were off inside.
I keep it fairly clean and there have been no issues with ice buildup int he freezer ever.
I rang up Samsung and i am out of warranty so they put me in touch with a third party. As i was on the phone to them, the lights came back on and it seemed to work.
It seems to get to its desired temp then the power cuts. Any ideas?
Its been doing this all day long now, 3 hours on, 3 off.
There are no leaks and i cant smell any thing out of the ordinary.
I have a 10 year warranty on the Invertor compressor, could this be the problem?
I love my fridge and id love to have it back again, please help with any ideas

All the best and thanks in advance

    Tom

Hi, an update. The power seems to be remaining on now, the freezer says its at -24c but nothing is really freezing, so its not an acurrate temp.
    Any ideas?

    thanks

I did a diagnostic check and everything seemed fine but the fridge and freezer are definitely not getting down to a reasonable temp.

    Hi Tom,

Firstly have you checked if your machine is on their product recall list? Or has any rework needed been done?

I’m not familiar with your exact model but there should be a thermal fuse on both fridge and freezer evaporators (normally have black and red cable) if these fuses go the fridge will stick in defrost mode. It’s also worth checking the resistance of the defrost elements as these are fairly common (test them individually and not from the connection they both plug into)

    Hope this helps

    Good luck
