Customer’s fridge freezer circulating fan reported making a lot of noise. Before I go there I do know some get frozen lumps on the housing and the blades hit the ice and have fixed it with a long thaw out for the customer over the phone.
As I do not get involved with many Samsung units is the fan on the inside behind the semi oval plastic housing attached with two Philips screws if the bearings are gone. Anybody taken this one apart to replace the fridge side circulating fan? The fridge is reported to be 3-4 years old.
    Any help gratefully received

It will need a new rear panel in the fridge as the polystyrene insulation gets saturated with water and no longer insulates.

If you defrost it it will only ice up again.

    Thanks Bob

Surprised that the insulation is of know use in only 3 1/2 years? Would have thought that the polystyrene insulation would hold up when old fridge’s run for anything up to 20 years without failing?
The customer has had a go at taking off two screws at the bottom of the plastic panel but could not release the whole unit from the fridge?
As I hope to get there tomorrow and will try to source the part today has it got plastic clips down each side holding it in place or contact tape when they installed it Bob.

It is just the screws holding it on it just pulls off as it clips on the sides.

4 screws normally 2 behind the charcoal filter covers.

You will have to defrost it with a steamer as the cover will be frozen to the evaporator.

Do not pull it completely of until you have unplugged the wiring connectors behind the panel and no ice is holding it to the evaporator.

    Thanks Bob

That’s a great help on a hot sunny day.
Will go very carefully tomorrow morning warming it up to get the cover off.
I try to stay away from fridge/freezers as the grief of the plastic and insulation snapping.
