Attn all refrigeration gurus (and anyone else willing to hazard a guess)

Sams RSH7 not producing ice

Preliminary investigation shows:

Water supply available and not frozen in door

Inlet solenoid working

Heater and motor on ice-maker have continuity

Freezer temp set to -22

What I assume to be an error code – 8 on freezer side and E on fridge side – displayed on start up. Reset by holding in top buttons.
NB if this is an error code it’s different to previous Sams models where a segment of the display is lit.

Any suggestions gratefully received

Hi,

Don’t know how to cycle the ice maker but would be interested. I fitted a replacement input pcb and have heard nothing since. Either the customer has decided to make ice manually or it actually worked.

There is a reset button on the ice maker. Hold it down and it should chime and then run a cycle, resulting in the fins turning all the way round, then it taking in water.

Ah yes, tried that and it did nothing – ice maker then?

The fault you have (8E) is an ice maker sensor error. Don’t think the sensors are available on their own so you’re looking at the ice maker. Before changing the ice maker I’d make sure the 2 connections to the ice maker are in correctly and aren’t just loose.
