samsung ff not cold in the fridge and only cold at the bottom of the freezer. Works fine for a few hours when defrosted. The fan is running.

Possibly the compressor overheating and shutting down. Check that all the air vents at the rear/bottom of the machine are clear and that the condenser and cooling fan isn’t all clogged up with dust. If it works for a short while after a defrost that may be because the compressor has had time to cool itself and will run for a little while before overheating again.
