    Hello all,

My SR-S2028CVW stopped dispensing water yesterday. The chiller isn’t frozen. When I press the paddle I’ve been listening for the solenoid valve and cannot hear any movement from within the fridge.

Having looked at the electrical schematic, the circuit for the dispenser seems very straight-forward; just the solenoid and a switch. No fuse or PCB etc.

So the problem is obviously in the switch or the solenoid, which leads to my questions 😉

    1. Where’s the solenoid? Is it by the water inlet at the back? I understand there’s two – one for the ice maker and one for the dispenser. The ice maker is fine by the way.
    2. If the solenoid tests fine once I find it, how the devil do I dismantle the paddle/switch mechanism as there’s no screws visible.

I understand Samsung are South Korean – do you think the machine malfunction is some kind of protest at North Korean’s bomb test?

Thanks for your help chaps – this forum is magnificent.

1st check the cold water storage bottle at the back of trhe fridge compartment is not frozen up, this is common.

The water valves are situated at the rear, just follow the incoming pipe.

could be evaporater cover failing causing fan motor to slow down but at the same time it bleeds through the polystyrene insulation and freezs up water tank in fridge.
