samsung sidebyside fault

hi, I have an american side by side fridge freezer Samsung SR-S2028CVW, i found it defrosted after a weekend away. all the lights were working ok…but the freezer temp inicator was flashing…i turned the appliance off at the wall and on again the appliance restarted and reached its set temperatures again…then as most appliances the motors stopped , what happens now is the problem..they dont restart…but they do if you turn it off and on again at the plug. I now have the appliance on a time controlled switch so it turns off every few hours and on again, short term fix I know..I think the symptoms point at the control board but would like some advice from appliance experts, many thanks Sean

Sounds like a problem sensor or defrost cycle. I would advise a call from an engineer as it could be either fridge or freezer side which is giving the problem. 🙁
