Hi, maybe I am living up to my username but….how do you get this thing to work?
My wi-fi is via a BT home hub 5. The phone is a Samsung galaxy S5 and the washing machine is the Samsung WF70F5E2W4X.
The app is installed on the phone and smart check part of it seems to work (uses the phone’s camera to look at the display and produces a ‘diagnosis’ ) (there is no fault but I just did it to see if the app appears to be working).
I don’t see the washing machine on the home hub’s wi-fi ‘map’ and that’s with wps active UNLESS it’s showing up an an Android device, several android phones are allowed to connect but they don’t have user friendly ID’s.
If I ‘ask’ the phone to find the washing machine via the “indoor ” control it can’t, I haven’t tried the “outdoor” control.
Am I correct in assuming that the phone and washing machine are meant to communicate with each other via the home hub 5?
The app’s connection instructions say to press the temp and start/pause buttons simultaneously and then twiddle the control knob until “AP” appears on the display. Doing this has no apparent effect. I have watched youtube videos for other models and those machines seem to respond to the button presses almost immediately but as I said I seem to get nothing.
I don’t know if the remote control is actually worth the bother of setting it up but, if nothing else, it would be interesting to see it work.
Thanks for any help.
