I bought a Samsung SR-L36 frost-free Fridge-freezer about 5 years ago and have had no trouble up until now.
Now the freezer seems to be OK but the fridge is too cold and is freezing everything. I’ve tried reducing the temperature control but it makes no difference. There is however no ice building-up in the firdge or freezer.

It is also making a loud machine-gun type buzzing noise all the time. I have tried switching it off/on and this stops the buzzing for about 5 minutes then it starts again.

The light inside the fridge only comes on if I fiddle with the pressure switch that should activate when the fridge door opens.

    More details:
    Model SR-L3616B
    Refridgerant R600a
    It’s a frost-free upright fridge-freezer, fridge at the top

Should I dispatch it to the local tip?

    Thanks
    Guya

    Hi Guya,
find a home for your frozen food, then switch off you fridge freezer for 24 hours with both doors left open.
i know its a frost free appliance but sometimes the defrost system does get defeted under certain conditions, the noise you are hearing is the fridge baffle motor and it is possibly jammed with ice build up causing this fault.

    Bob,

    Many thanks for the reply.
I’ve switched-off for 24 hours but when I switch it on again all the led lights come on for about 10 seconds then they go off and led 5 is flashing with a green light. I’ve left it for about 1 hour but led is still flashing and the fridge/freezer are both off.
Is this a error light? I’ve looked in the manual but no description of what flashing light means. Any ideas?

    Many thanks for your help.
