Hi I have a Samsung SR-L3928B Fridge freezer. Its a top and bottom style model, fridge at the top, it has an opening for drinks dispensing, and above the top of the fridge is the digital control panel. Its frost free.
Its around 7 yrs old in a corner of the kitchen with quite a bit of space at the back and top. Anyways last week it started making a funny rattling noise every 20 mins or so, and would then disappear for a while before returning again. It was otherwise working ok, then a few days back I noticed that ice creams in the freezer had melted, had to throw most of the food away, but noticed no cold air coming out of both the freezer and fridge internal vents. The digital control at the top seemed to be working normally. Turned off the fridge for 48 hours and switched it on again, and the same noise reappeared and no cool air out of the internal vents.
If you need further info I’d be happy to provide it, anything I can do to check any electronics etc, I’m not afraid to use a screwdriver 😀 .
Am I looking at getting a new fridge or would it be cost effective to get it repaired. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply, I shall have a check. Maybe I should have explained what the noise is like. It sounds like the usual hum you get from a fridge but much louder, then there is a metallic rattling noise, which suddenly stops, then starts again after 10 mins or so, last about 20 secs in call the humming and the rattling.

Fan motor will need replacing more than likely, a repair is cheaper than new appliance
