ParticipantHi, I have a problem with my samsung SR-S2025CVW. My Son has been messing about with it, so far ive got out of him that he turned it on and off several times and put his hand over the blue shield over the fridge temp sensor for about a minute. By removing the wires from the pcb at the rear I managed to realise it was the fridge side of things. To start with it would stay on for a few hours then trip the consumer box, now it is doing it almost straight away, the front panel lights up, 2 clicks from the back and it trips it out. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, David.

Sounds like it is your defrost heater. I’m no expert, but had the same symptoms and after some great advice on this forum replaced the heater, which btw is relatively striaghtforward.
The URL below should take you to my post where you’ll find details. There are many similar posts on the forum so this seems to be a very common problem.
https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules. … ic&t=42277If you can, isloate the defrost heater by disconnecting it from the main pcb. If your RCD doesn’t trip on power up then it’s likely the defrost heater.
Word of warning though, don’t think, as I did, that you can live without the defrost heater.
The defrost heater is coupled to the evaporator and is periodically switched on to melt any ice build up on the evaporator and during this cycle the evaporator is switched off. When the temp of the element reaches a set point it is switched off and the evaporator comes back on again.
If you run the FF without the defrost heater it will operate normally until it goes into a defrost cycle at which point the evaporator switches off. However because there is no heater the set point can never be reached and therefore the evaporator remains off resulting in both fridge and freezer temperatures heading North. The only way to fix this is to cycle the power.
A temporary soultion to this (whilst waiting on a part) is to plug the FF into a timer set to cycle the power periodically so that the defrost cycle is never reached. I found that every 2 hrs seemed to work.
If you run the unit this way for any length of time look out for ice build up on the evaporator as after only a few days this can result in temperature rises in the fridge, I think because it can affect the fan operation.
Hope this helps.
