This American style fridge freezer was purchased 2 years ago and is now 1 month out of warranty. It has a leak in the cold drinking water internal tank and I have been unable to fix it with sealant. Any ideas where I can get a replacement tank, Samsung were less than helpful.

I can get one for you, part number DA74-00056C is £39.89 inc VAT and delivery.
If you’d like one, please email me on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and I’ll arrange.
Dave.

hi,
Its easy to make a mistake here and I might be making it but here goes…
The water tank in the fridge compartment actually covers the evaporator section(not in the freezer on this one) and a common fault is “fridge leaking”.
The leak is however from ice build up around the evaporator as this is another with poor heating of the defrost channel run away.I might be wrong in your case, but a careful check might just save £40.00.

Thanks for the word of caution Kevin. I have actually removed the offending tank and there is indeed a crack in one corner where the tank folds back on itself. This is the point I tried to seal (after emptying the tank). I’m pretty sure a new tank will do the trick (just hope my DIY is up to it).

I also need the water tank DA74-00056C as mine has a leak and the glue I tried has only held for 3 years. 🙁
Just a little worried as the connecting pipes don’t seem to be held by jubilee clips or similar. Is it just a push fit, or is it glued? I see the item is available on the UK Whitegoods online shop. Does it come with fixing instructions. Apart from my above concern it does look very straightforward.
Thanks.October 25, 2008 at 3:46 pm #124158gegsy

Hi
They are push fit and to remove old you will need to push collar inwards to release pipes from coupling.
When fitting new, longest pipe to the front of appliance, below removable trim. Care must be taken on the routing of the rear pipe to the water valve, as it may at somem satge com ein contact with the compressor cooling fan blades. Take your time and look for leaks before putting all back together.Power off first of course before attempting any of this :plug:
