I finally got around to replacing my leaky water tank yesterday (after overcoming the small matter of the tank discharge pipe being about 6 inches shorter than the original). No more leaks however when I now dispense water some water continues to discharge into the drip tray after releasing the discharge lever.

Cannot understand it. The discharge switch operates the mains inlet water solenoid and it appear to be closing off immediately. A related sympton is that when operating the lever the full water flow does not come immediately – it seems to build up. Then on release it continues to flow, gradually tailing off. I’ve purged the sytem to ensure no air is trapped but cannot solve the problem. Any ideas?

Problem solved. I managed to cross connect the tubes. The tank inlet is at the bottom and the outlet at the top. I somehow convinced myself the bottom tube would not reach the mains water solenoid. Only took me half an hour to sort since I now knew what I was doing.
