ParticipantI have had this fridge for about 6 years, without much trouble.
Recently, the cold water dispenser has stopped delivering.
I have checked;
1) the water input to the fridge, OK.
2) the valve at the back bottom. When disconnected and the cold water switch activated, water flows out as if to go to the chiller part OK.
3) the water can flow from the little coupler in the front bottom of the fridge to the door dispenser [checked by disconnecting and blowing through] OK.
4) I have tried to blow through the tube from the disconnected rear valve to the front coupling, and here seems to be an obstruction.
5) ice continues to be made OK.As I havent looked underneath the machine as yet, I would ask;
Is there any other valve or one-way system in the pipe as it goes underneath the main body of the fridge which may give me the impression of a blockage?
Is this where the cold water tank is kept, and if so, is it likely that this has become frozen during this cold winter, and this is all that is causing the blockage?
If this isnt where the cold tank is, where is it?Thank you in anticipation

Hi
The evaperator will probably need to be relaced.Take out the 2 salad box’s and look at the rear wall,If its frozen then its the cover that has failed.
e-mail me R600A@hotmail.com and I can supply one to you.

Hi, Bryan 😀 I thought it was only your boots that you did that to 😛
was that the “evaporator COVER” then? or is there a DIY brazing and regassing kit on fleabay nowadays? 😆 😈(you been at the Tesco special, or had a lot of “pop” left after Christmas? )

Thanks, R600A, for the prompt reply.
I have removed the salad boxes, but can see only a tiny amount of ice, not bad for the time I have had the fridge. As the fridge/freezer works ok, I am not sure that the evaporator is faulty.
I was under the impression that the cold water feed goes underneath the fridge anyway, and the question still remains whether this has frozen, or if there is a reservoir under there and whether this has frozen up.
Also how would replacing the cover inside the fridge help, or does the CW feeder go through and around the fridge itself?January 25, 2009 at 5:15 pm #275083admin

Hi
Undo the 2 screws that hold the water tank onto the front of the evaporator cover and leave off for a few hours and keep trying to dispense water,pour a small amount of WARM not boiling water over it also.

Thanks for the help.
It was not obvious to me that the cold water tank was directly behind the salad chillers. I was expecting to see a tank rather than a fat pipe.
Following your advice about warming this, and checking the flow, I am pleased to report that the cold water flow now works.
Your initial post mentioned a build-up of ice. There does seem to be more ice on moving the pipes. How much would you expect to see were there a problem? I can then keep an eye on it to treat any potential problem early.Thanks again.

Hi
You will need the evaperator cover still to stop the water bottle freezing.
e-mail me for the part r600a@hotmail.com

Sadly, you are correct regarding the re-freezing. The water flow has again ceased, for the same reason, so I presume I will need the cover. I did e-mail you regarding this recently, but did not get a response. I assume the e-mail didnt get to you, as I cannot guarantee my post system.
Can you let me know what would be involved.
I also noticed that the bottle itself has a slight leak, due to ice expansion, so I will need to replace this also. Comments? -
